Abstract: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common and carry significant morbidity and subsequent healthcare costs. Urinary tract infection describes a spectrum of disease from bacteriuria to pyelonephritis. This article will explore the terminology, clinical presentation and treatment of this common disorder in the elderly.
