Abstract: | A significant number of general practice patients attend the Accident and Emergency departments of public hospitals despite the 24 hour availability of their general practitioners. This article records the results of a survey of patients asking them to evaluate each stage of the process of visiting a doctor. The study highlighted the patients' desire for appropriate facilities and service, and their need for compassion and good communication from their doctor. |
